Robust Machine body  The machine body is strengthen and lowered to minimise twisting and deformation. All components of the machine frame including the cross members are stress relieved after welding.

High Torque Drive System  DURMA plate rolls produce extremely high torque therefore you can bend the plate with fewer steps.  The top and bottom rolls are powered by hydraulic motors thought a planetary reduction gearbox.  The strong hydraulic brake system does not allow the plate to slip back.  Pressure safety valves protect the hydraulic system from overload.

Planetary Swing Roll System   The side rolls are 2 independent axes which swing up in an orbit motion.  The orbit motion allows perfect pre-bends as well as minimises spring back.  This allows a DURMA machine to roll a drum as small as 1.1 times the top roll diameter.

Hardened Rolls And Crowning System  Highly durable carbon steel (C45) rolls are machined by CNC Lathes with high precision without creating notch effect.  Working surfaces of the rolls are induction hardened to HRC 54±2  Rolls are machined as crowning shape to compensate the deflections on the rolls during the bending.

Bearing System  The rolls are guided with roller bearings within bronze housings.  This guiding system requires less lubrication with long term durability.

Synchronized Roll System  The bottom roll pinches the different plate thicknesses without deformation.  The pinching rolls maintain parallelism by the hydraulic adjustable pressure torsion bar.

Digital Readout  As standard the DURMA range of 4—roll plate rolling machines have a digital readout display.  The operator can quickly and easily view the position of up to 6 moving axes.
